QUESTION OF THE WEEK

What is a normal scalp appearance?

It is so important to understand what a "normal scalp" looks like before one can appreciate subtle changes in other hair loss conditions. First, the scalp is the colour the skin and not red. There are no scales on the scalp or around hairs. The hairs are all the same size with no miniaturization. The hairs are arranged in bundles of two hairs or three hairs, only a minor number of hairs emerge from the scalp as single hairs.
