QUESTION OF THE WEEK

Hair Loss

Is it Scarring or Non-Scarring?

There are dozens of different hair loss conditions. They are classified into two main groups: scarring hair loss conditions and non-scarring hair loss conditions. Scarring hair loss conditions are all characterized by the absence of follicular pore openings. The scar tissue obliterates the openings. In early stages, pores openings may still be present. Over time, they disappear and the area appears smooth like an ice skating rink.
