Lichen Planopilaris (LPP)

Under the Microscope

Lichen planopilaris (LPP) is a type of hair loss that results in permanent hair loss. When biopsies are examined under the microscope inflammation  can be clearly seen surrounding the hair follicles. This inflammation is often responsible for the patient’s symptoms such as itching, burning and pain.
