Psoriasis is a common skin condition that frequently affects the scalp.

Common trichoscopic features of scalp psoriasis at low power magnification include: 1) white scaling 2) red dots, 3) red globules and 4) twisted and simple red loops.​​​​​​​​

In 2022, Golinska, Sar-Pomian and Rudnicka from Poland evaluated the sensitivity and specificity of these trichoscopic findings. White scaling had a sensitivity of 50% and specificity of 82.6 %. Red dots and globules had a sensitivity of 36.7 % amd specificity of 96.1 %. Simple red loops had a sensitivity of 11 % amd specificity of 99.1 %. Twisted red loops had a sensitivity of 57.8 % and specificity of 87.7 %.​​​​​​​​
