Dr. Donovan does not usually require patients to submit their own trichoscopy images. However, this certainly can be done if a patient wishes to do so - and a variety of inexpensive yet useful “USB Digital Microscopes” are available for purchase on Amazon. The following set of images serves as a useful guide for patients who wish to submit their own trichoscopy images to the office. Dr. Donovan does not have any particular device that he recommends. The images submitted should be clear and not blurry. Images should be taken from 8 particular regions of the scalp and submitted by email to whistleroffice@donovanmedical.com or uploaded via our secure site.
As an example, a patient might take an image with their personal USB DIGITAL MICROSCOPE in area 4 and email it to our office as follows.
“Dear Dr Donovan, Here is an image of area 4 of the scalp.”
